Why Bother?

Simply put, detoxing is cleansing the body of harmful toxins.

Harmful toxins can build in our colons or arteries.  These toxins are often a by-product of a carnivorous diet. A diet that is high in fat and processed foods tends to slow down our digestive systems, and our elimination processes are also interrupted.

When the digestive system is slowed down, harmful bacteria and toxins can accumulate, creating a general feeling of sluggishness and a host of digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome or colitis. People are finding that when we begin eating a more healthy vegetarian diet, we start to get more dietary fiber into our systems and our digestive systems start to work better.  We also may feel more energetic and clear-headed.

Toxicity is a big concern these days.   We ingest new chemicals, use more drugs of all kinds, eat more sugar and refined foods, and daily abuse ourselves with various stimulants and sedatives. Combined with a poor diet of fat and processed foods, our bodies become filled with toxins that can lead to disease.

Cancer and cardiovascular disease are two of the main diseases in today’s society. Arthritis, allergies, obesity, and many skin problems are other conditions that may be a result of toxicity.  Headaches, fatigue, pains, coughs, gastrointestinal problems, and problems from immune weakness can all be related to toxicity.

Detoxing enables the body to cleanse itself of the harmful effects of toxic foods and other substances.
